David Applegarth, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on September 8, 1957, in Newcastle, Wyoming, to Howard and Velma Applegarth. He passed away peacefully at his home in Evanston, surrounded by love, on October 3, 2025, with his cherished wife, Laura, by his side.

David's life was enriched by his 45-year love affair with Laura, whom he married on August 23, 1980. Together, they built a beautiful home in Evanston, where they created countless memories filled with laughter and love. David took immense pride in his role as a father to his son, Travis Jon Johnson, whose arrival filled his heart with joy and pride.

His passions were as vibrant as his spirit. An avid hunter and fisherman, David found solace in nature, spending countless hours hiking, camping, and sharing adventures with his son and brother. Gardening also brought him great joy, serving as a testament to his nurturing nature. Above all, David adored his granddaughters, Hailey (Josh) Albertson and Kylee Johnson, and he was blessed to embrace the role of great-grandfather to Nathaniel Johnson and Maisie Albertson.

David is survived by his loving wife Laura, his son Travis, his two granddaughters, and his great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Julie (Jim) Hall and Jean (Clyde) Huddleston, his brother Howard (Sherry) Applegarth, and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Carol Sue Applegarth and Fern Chambers.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor David's remarkable journey, sharing stories and memories that reflect the warmth and light he brought to all who knew him. As we remember David, let us cherish the adventures that defined his life, the laughter he gifted us, and the love he freely shared. May his spirit continue to inspire us all.
