Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory on Feb. 9, 2026.
David Charles Artman, 82, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully at his sister's home on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

He was born December 22, 1943, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of the late Delbert and Elenore (Hackathorn) Artman. A lifelong area resident, after high school, David joined the United States Army and honorably served our country during Vietnam.

David worked at Geneva Rubber as a press operator for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of Plymouth United Methodist Church. David enjoyed tinkering around the house. He was a jack of trades and could fix just about anything. In his younger years he served as a boy scout leader when his son was young. David also loved animals, especially horses and birds.

He is survived by his son, Mark Artman; sister, Louise Pack; brother, Melvin Artman; grandson, Brandon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

David was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 1996; daughter, Lisa Artman- Highlander in 2019; siblings, Donald, Richard, Kenneth, Melford, Dwane, Roger, Margie, Esther and Barbara.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11AM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with Chaplain Lisa Heinbaugh of Plymouth United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Saybrook Fire Department, 2235 Center Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
