David Augustynovich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home - Akron Chapel on Nov. 19, 2025.
David John Augustynovich ObituaryDavid John Augustynovich, 74, of Wadsworth passed away on February 26, 2025 after a short
illness in Hospice at Barberton City Hospital.
He was born in Barberton, the son of the late John and Norma Augustynovich. He was also
preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Harold. He leaves his beloved and devoted
wife, Mary Louise "Marylou" nee Maisano, brother, Robert (Mary), nephew, Andrew, sister, Carol (Mark) Dittrich, sister-in-law, Janis, niece, Crista, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones.
David was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of '68. He had retired as 2nd shift supervisor from B&C Corp. where he had more than 30 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, hunting bear, elk, and deer in New England and Canada.
Like his dad, David loved exploring "the road less traveled" especially if was a winding dirt road. And travel he did, far and wide. A favorite destination of his was "Jamboree in the Hills" in St. Clairsville, OH to which he travelled many times beginning in the 1970's. He was kind hearted and hospitable. He was the glue of the Augustynovich family and would roast a pig or an ox to bring friends and family together. The "Augustynovich Family Picnic" became an annual tradition at the Barberton Moose Lodge.
A romance that began with a phone call grew into an enduring and treasured relationship.
David and Marylou were married on April 1st of 2010 - April Fool's Day, which turned out to be an apt cure for what Uncle Frank said was Dave's "Marylou-itis", a condition from which he never did recover.
Although he was never in the military he had a keen awareness of the sacrifices of those who did serve. He was influential in commemorating all the Augustynovich men who were veterans, making sure that honor was given where honor was due.
Per David's request there will be no calling hours or service. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite Veteran's Charity.
