David W. Auld, 68, of Fishers, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at his home. He was born March 2, 1957, in Highland, Indiana to Dean R. and Shirley M. (Volkman) Auld.
David was a graduate of Highland Jr.-Sr. High School and Purdue University. He worked for Johnson Controls as an HVAC validation engineer.
In his youth David loved his family vacations especially the fishing trips to Canada and the upper peninsula of Michigan. He was raised by parents who instilled in him honesty, peacefulness and respect. David loved woodworking, attending concerts and dancing. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Indiana Fever, Premier League Soccer, Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. David had a passion for yard work, but most of all he loved spending time with his husband, children and grandchildren.
David is survived by husband Jon Hardman, whom he married September 15, 2016, children Krysta (Scott) Elder, Lauren (Zach) Bailey, Ashley (Shaina) Auld, Kevin (Alison) Auld, grandchildren Paige, Eleanor, Penelope, Logan, Willow, Jadalyn, Blake, Kendhyl, Karsyn and Kennedy, siblings Karen (Lee Conte) Auld and Edward (Kathy) Auld as well as his beloved dogs Scooter and Sadie. He is also survived by his previous spouse, Shelley (Jones) Auld, with whom he raised four children and maintained a close relationship until his time of passing. They were married for over 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above.
A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
