Dorothy (Dot) Faye Auld went to be with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, on 30 July 2025, at the age of 91. Dorothy was born on 24 November 1933 in Thornton Texas to Clarence V. Taylor and Ivy Johnson Taylor.
After her parents passed away at an early age, Dorothy was raised by her sister, Lorene Taylor Samford, until she married Edmil W. Auld on 8 November 1952 at Calvery Baptist Church by Reverand A. B. McBeth. Born to this union were three children: Michael Stephen Auld, Randy Wayne Auld, and Karla Diane Auld.
Dorothy graduated from Mexia High School in 1952. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Southeastern Telephone Company, and Shirlene's Ladies Boutique. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her involvement, friends and family in Lost Prairie Baptist Church, Little Flock Baptist Church, and Donie First Baptist Church. She was an avid reader of the Bible and routinely studied its wisdom and guidance. She gave numerous devotions to various churches, and worked tirelessly in the church nursery, cleaning the insides and grounds, and preparing the fellowship hall for special events.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Randy Auld, daughter Karla Auld, three grandchildren to include Jessie Auld, Rebecca (Nickie) Irby, and Cassandra (Cassie) Lilly. Dorothy has great grandchildren including Tristan, Sydney, Rebekah, Logan, Skyler, Jake, Allister, and Attika.
Dorothy was a bright ray of sunshine to all that knew her and will be missed by all that were fortunate to know and love her.
