Julie Gregory, of Wortham, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on May 19, 1960, in Andrews, Texas, and was lovingly raised by the late Patsy and Carl Scott.
Julie grew up in Wortham and spent most of her life in and around the community she loved. She was active in local events and known by many for her warmth, humor, and easygoing nature.
She was previously married to Gary Buchmeyer, with whom she shared her three children, Trey, Carlie, and Bryce Buchmeyer. She later married David Gregory, with whom she shared many happy years.
She is survived by her father, Carl Scott; children, Trey, Carlie, and Bryce Buchmeyer; sister and brother-in-law, Mandy and Jimmy Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Loretta Scott; and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. To the youngest of them, she was affectionately known as "Aunt Juju," and to her friends, "Jules."
Julie loved rock and roll music and was never shy about turning it up loud or taking over the dance floor. She enjoyed baking-especially her famous cakes, playing board games, and celebrating every holiday to the fullest. She also shared her mother's love of plants, that continues to run through the family. Julie especially enjoyed spending time with her supportive family, visiting her niece, Susan Broussard, and doting on "those sweet babies" she loved like her own grandchildren. Outgoing and full of laughter, she was happiest when surrounded by family, friends, and her beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Scott, and her husband, David Gregory.
