Jerry Wayne Current, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Waco, Texas, at the age of 58. Born on May 23, 1967, in Spearman, Texas, to Susie (Valero) Current and Jerry Current Sr., Jerry Jr. grew up with a vibrant spirit that would define his life's journey.
Jerry's life was marked by his enduring love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Pam (Roberson) Current, his loving children, daughter Jordan Current and son Jarrod Current, and his adored granddaughter Elena Darby. His legacy continues through his parents, his sisters Lisa Current Tweedle and her husband Mack, Cynthia Hughes and her husband Tony, his brother Heath Current and his wife Maggie, and Sherry Current, mother of Jerry's children. His extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless friends will forever remember his warmth and generosity.
A long-time owner of Jerry's Tire House in Mexia, Jerry was not only a successful businessman but also a pillar in his community. His tenure as a former Youth Pastor at First Assembly of God in Mexia showcased his unwavering faith and passion for guiding young lives. Jerry's commitment to his faith was further exemplified by his mission trips to Africa, where he served in The Congo and Angola, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he touched.
Jerry's zest for life was evident in his many interests and hobbies. An avid bodybuilder, he found joy in helping others achieve their fitness goals at the gym. His playful nature as a prankster brought laughter to those around him, and his love for reading and music enriched his soul. A natural storyteller, Jerry had the unique ability to captivate an audience with his words.
Above all, Jerry was a loving and faith-filled man. His passion for life was infectious, and his dedication to his family was unwavering. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his granddaughter Elena.

The Family will hold a visitation on Sunday, October12, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Corley-Porter Funeral Home. A Funeral Service to be held at Christ Gospel Fellowship at 205 East Titus Street in Mexia at 2:00 pm on Monday October 13, 2025, with burial to follow immediately at The Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin, Texas.
