David was a proud veteran and served honorably in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster. He was a plank owner on the USS San Jacinto and completed a major Mediterranean cruise prior to the first Gulf War and to eventually support Operation Desert Shield. David witnessed the launch of the first Tomahawk Missiles in combat.
David loved Cajun country and the people. He tried his best to mimic the Cajun accent. His Louisiana family finally dubbed him "Honorary Cajun." A seasoned cook, he loved preparing meals, especially gumbo, for his Louisiana and Texas families. David also loved gaming, card games and collecting gaming cards. He was a wonderfully talented artist and creator of hand-made goods. David was a wonderful lifeforce and no gathering will ever be the same without him. He was a dedicated truck driver at Westport Linen for the last 6 years. David was always willing to take the extra route and show up when needed. He completed a military-led honor walk as it was his desire to help others in his passing. David had family, friends and Ochsner-LGMC personnel supporting him.
He will be greatly missed by many people and left us way too soon and unexpectedly.
