David Bender Sr.

David Robert Bender, Sr., 62, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Meritus Medical Center.

Born Friday, May 8, 1959 in Lilly, PA, he was the son of the late Robert Bender and the late Barbara Bender.

David was a graduate from North Hagerstown High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. After his enlistment, he became an employee at the Herald Mail.

He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons Sean A. Bender and David Bender, Jr.; two grandsons, Trenton Bender and Urijah Bender; granddaughter, Novalee Bender; three Sisters, Karen Ecker and husband Chuck of Hagerstown, MD, Cathy Jackson and husband Lynn of Hagerstown, MD, Mary Palmer of Hagerstown, MD; brother, Michael Bender and wife Vicki of Williamsport, MD; six nephews, Tony Bender, Ryan Bender, Bobby Bender, Devon Bender, Dillon Palmer, and Donovon Palmer; and three Nieces, Ashley Bender, Brittany Ecker, and Delaney Palmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and a niece, Christine Ecker.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
