David Leroy Bergner was born January 13, 1944, in Berryman, Missouri. He was one of two sons born to Roy Bergner and Iva Sellers. David graduated with the class of 1962 from Salem High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge after six years.
On January 21, 1967, David was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon Kay Inman. They were blessed with one daughter, Deborah, and later blessed with two grandchildren. David and Sharon shared fifty-seven years creating lasting memories together.
David was a hard worker and dedicated provider. He started his working career with the mines at St. Joe Lead Mines and retired in his early sixties from Doe Run Mines. David truly enjoyed his retirement years and looked forward to each day. In his spare time, he liked to go fishing and spend time maintaining his home. He took great pride in keeping his yard looking immaculate.
David was a man of strong faith and previously attended Salem Assembly of God Church for over fifty years. His faith, family, and friends were most important to him. David loved spending time with his family and cherished the memories made with his grandchildren.
David entered into eternal rest April 8, 2024, in Chesterfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife: Sharon Bergner of Salem, MO; daughter: Deborah Fore and husband Keith of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Mackenzie Nicole Fore and Brett Logan Fore; nieces: Belinda Crocker and husband Gary, Kathy Wood and husband Loren, and Mary Kay Hampton and husband Ben; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his father: Roy Bergner; mother: Iva Sellers and husband Guy; and his brother: Norman Bergner and wife Shirley.
David was a quiet, sweet, kind-hearted, respectful gentleman. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him most.
