DAVID LEE. BIDWELL, age 70, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2023, at Meijer Heart Center, Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  David was born on August 13, 1953, in Wabash, Indiana, the son of William L. and Joyce F. Bidwell, both of whom preceded him in death.  He attended Wabash Schools and relocated to Grand Rapids at an early age.  He worked in several capacities during his lifetime, retiring from an auto parts manufacturing company several years ago. His many pastimes included watching the history channel and collecting old coins.  He also enjoyed a long walk and had pretty good luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. Always a family man he looked forward to his many trips to Indiana to visit his extended family and the old stomping grounds back home.

Memories of David will be cherished by his dear children, Lisa D. (Adam Taylor) Zeigler of Ionia, Tony Vroma of Newaygo, Andy (Crystal) Pohl of Remus, and Megan (Jeff) DiGiorgio of Greenville; his grandchildren, Austin Raterink, Dominic Raterink, Keegan Mack, Austin Taylor, Mason Taylor, Adam Vroma, and Nathan Vroma; his great grandchild, Jace; siblings, Beverly Ann Bidwell of Huntington, Indiana and James L. (Deb) Bidwell of Wabash, Indiana; a special aunt, Carla Sundheimer-Seibold; special friends who were as good as family, Linda and Ricky Jackson and Brad Gruchow all of Grand Rapids; a previous life partner and mother to his children, Deanna Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Melissa S. Baker and Chuck Bidwell; and a nephew, Chad Bidwell.

A memorial Service will take place on Sunday. November 19, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan, with Pastor William Overton officiating.  The family will greet visitors at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Those wishing to express their sympathy are invited to consider a donation in David’s memory to the wishes of the family.
