David Jerome "Dave" Blunk, age 73, of Lac Du Flambeau passed away on Sunday April 14, 2024, in Minocqua. Dave was born on September 3, 1950, in Shawano to the late Clarence and Anne (Dillenburg) Blunk. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1968 then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin in 1972. Dave worked at JC Penny for two years before becoming a sales representative at Phillip Morris for 30 years before retiring at the age of 55. He was on the Conservation Congress Board for Oneida County. Dave enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Northwood's Wildlife Center and substitute teaching at Lakeland and Lac Du Flambeau schools.
Dave is survived by his son, Jeff (Collen) Blunk; two stepsons, Shelby (Jill) Brunke and Eric (Brenda) Brunke; grandchildren, Kroy Mattis Blunk, Alex Brunke, Andrian Brunke, Taylor Brunke, Nicole Brunke and Jason Brunke; and brother, Dennis Blunk.
A funeral mass for David will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm then again on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Dave was a very good neighbor, who volunteered for Adopt a Highway, trash pickup for many years. He will be missed around Amber Lake.
