David Gene Boysel Sr, 81, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on August 19th 2023 at Prestige Gardens in Marysville after a long battle with Parkinsons. Dave was born on August 16, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Ralph William Boysel and Ruby Vaughn (Morris) Boysel. David proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966.
David is survived by his loving children, Deidra Boysel, Gina Hughes (Terry), Becky Roberts (Jim), Monica Walter (Rusty), and son, David Boysel Jr. Dave has (45) grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Dave is also survived by his step-children, Johnny, Roxanne, Chris, and David, as well as his cherished sisters, Carol Kendrick and Susie Bowen, and his beloved brothers, Ralph Boysel and Richard Boysel and David's companion Jean Seymour and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruby Boysel, his stepmother Lucrettia M Boysel (Toops), his beloved wife Mary Olive Boysel (Dement), wife Georgia C Boysel (May), his sisters Mary Joy Young and Sirley V Dildine, his brother Charles E (Jack) Boysel, and his grandson Tyler William Malone. David was a tremendous handyman and mechanic and enjoyed collecting buffalo nickels. Dave retired in 2008 after 25 years of service from The Tolles Career and Technical Center.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Ferguson Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22nd. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. The funeral ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd, at 11:00 AM. Following the ceremony, a graveside service with Military Honors will be conducted at Somerford Cemetery, located at 830 W Urbana-London Somerford, Ohio 43140.
