Funeral services have been set for Monday, May 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
He was born in Corsicana, Texas on January 31, 1953 to George Donald and Kitty Bernice Ritter Brackeen.
David is survived by his sons, Patton Shirley, Garon Shirley and Kenneth Shirley; grandchildren, Michael, Dakota and Payton Shirley; special friend, Arlene Roberts; siblings, Marsha Tucker, Donna Sharp, Larry Brackeen, Allen Brackeen, James Brackeen, George Brackeen, Johnny Brackeen, Darrel Brackeen, Carroll West.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vicki Brackeen; sister, Peggy O'Gorman.
Pallbearers will be Patton Shirley, Michael Shirley, Dakota Shirley, Garon Shirley, Darrell Brackeen, James Brackeen, Johnny Brackeen, Larry Brackeen.

Dear Patton and Family.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I recall when you spoke so highly of Mr. Brackeen, saying what a loving husband, father and grandfather he was to your Mom, you and your brothers, and your children. May he rest in eternal peace, and may God comfort you and your family at this time.
