David Britton Obituary
David E. Britton, 74, of Mt. Carmel, IL passed away on Monday, June 17, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. He was born in Linton, IN on August 28, 1949 to Clarence E. and Zada (Bobbitt) Britton. He married his wife of 56 years, Jeanie (Hardesty) Britton on September 10, 1967.
David graduated from Linton Stockton High School in 1967. He worked for Duke energy for 34 years, starting at the Edwardsport Station in 1970 and transferring to the Gibson Station in 1974. He retired in 2004. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, shooting and motorcycles.
Family left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jeanie Britton, of Mt. Carmel; a son, Thad (Trinity) Britton of Clarksville, IN; three grandchildren Cory (Natalie) Britton, Ashlynn Britton and Chloe Britton. A brother, Herbert (Marcia) Britton and three sisters Gretta West, Marla Wadsworth and Sara (Dennis) Bellamy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Gene West and James Wadsworth.
Per David's wishes there will not be a visitation or service. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in David's memory.
