Obituary of David Albert Bunn
Manchester – David Albert Bunn, age 80 of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Arbor Hospice Residence in Saline. Dave was born on March 13, 1942, in Hazel Park, MI, the son of Paul and Josephine (Bibbee) Bunn. Dave married Cheryl Diane McGuire in Madison Heights, MI on April 11, 1964, and together, they raised their children on their family farm in Manchester. Dave had been employed at Ford Motor Company as a Carpenter until his retirement. He attended Manchester United Methodist Church, was a member of the Manchester Jaycees and the Manchester Men's Club, enjoyed farming, and in his younger days, Dave enjoyed bicycling; so much so, that he had biked from Manchester all the way to Lewiston in Northern Michigan. A lifelong resident of Manchester, Dave or better known in the community as "Papa" or "Grandpa" Bunn was a huge supporter of Manchester Athletics, especially Manchester Wrestling, and was his grandchildren's number one fan.
Left to cherish Dave's memory is his wife of 58 years, Cheryl; his three children, Dawn (Randy) Jackson, David "Chip" (Michelle) Bunn, and Michael (Tara) Bunn; nine grandchildren, Nathan Jackson, Nichole (Alec) Pichla, Nicholas Jackson, Joshua, Jacob, and Jared Bunn, Dalton, Grant, and Parker Tungate; great grandson, Hayes Pichla; and two sisters, Beatrice (Denny) Patton and Lucille (Dorian) Staff. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michelle "Shelly" Bunn; and brother, Thomas Bunn.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Bethel United Church of Christ, Manchester. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Church of Christ, Manchester with Pastor David Bucholtz officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at Sharon United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Cremation will follow.
