David Maurice Burks, 69, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his residence in Hickory Flat, MS. He was born May 30, 1954, to Sidney Roscoe Burks and Elene Box Burks in New Albany, MS. He was owner and manager of Burks Mobile Home Rentals in Hickory Flat, MS. David was a dedicated and hardworking man who always went above and beyond to take care of his properties and tenants. David was a loving and devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he always put their needs and well-being above his own. He enjoyed watching old TV shows and westerns. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Teresa Grisham Burks, daughters, Roseann White (Stephen), and Cyndi Burks, brother, Sidney Burks, Jr., grandchildren, Austin Burks, Brandon Burks, Gracie Oakes, Regan Oakes, Elijah Gurley, and Malachi Erby, and great grandchild, Everly Rose Burks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven Burks, and sister Betty Atkins.
Services will be held Monday, May 27, 2024, at United Funeral Service. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM, with Bro. Steve Wilson and Bro. John Vazquez officiating. Burial will be at McKay Cemetery in Hickory Flat, MS. Pallbearers will be Steve Taylor, Ricky Wilkerson, Terry Grant, Keith Grant, Brad Canerdy, and Tristian Brown.
United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements.

David always treated my daddy Larry Melton and us girls good. He was a wonderful person...we will surely miss you pop....tell daddy and klint to behave....I'm so sorry for your loss Ms Teresa and kids and everyone else....he was a very kind person but took no crap off anybody.....I miss you and love u pop....Tracy. And. Stacy. He was a great landlord....lots of prayers for the family
