David Burleson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory from Apr. 27 to May 10, 2023.
David Wayne Burleson, 14, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2023 at his home in West Blocton, AL. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at River of Life Church in Centreville, AL, with Pastor Mike Woods officiating.
David was born to Patrick Burleson and Amy Lantz on February 6th, 2009. Tillman Sterling was his stepfather.
He is survived by his parents, Patrick, Amy, and Tillman. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Burleson, age 12, his grandparents Vann and Valerie Lantz of Woodstock, AL, Randy and Suzanne Sterling of Duncanville, AL, Pat Blythe of Hamilton, AL, and his uncle Michael Lantz of Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his uncle Trey Sterling of Duncanville, AL.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable young man whose warmth, caring nature, and forgiveness touched the lives of those who were lucky enough to know him. At just 14 years old, he left this world far too soon, leaving a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Although his time with us was brief, he left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was known for his infectious smile, his willingness to help others, and his unyielding kindness.
One of the defining characteristics of this young man was his capacity for forgiveness. He never held a grudge or harbored ill will towards anyone and was always ready to extend a hand of forgiveness to those who may have wronged him. His forgiving nature was a true testament to his strength of character and his deep sense of compassion.
His passing is a profound loss to all who loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have known him. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness will continue to inspire us all to be better, more caring human beings. All will surely miss David and his warm, caring hugs.
David enjoyed many hobbies, including video gaming with friends and playing basketball in Upward Bound and the Tuscaloosa homeschool league.
A memorial will be held Saturday, April 29th, 2023, at 3 PM, at River of Life Chuch in Centreville, AL. A private graveside service will be held later.
