Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services - EatonDavid G. Burnett, age 88, of Germantown, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Astoria Health and Rehab Center in Germantown. He was born May 24, 1937 in Gratis, OH to the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Hale) Burnett.
David was a U.S. Marine Veteran; was a member of the First Brethren Church, in Gratis; and retired from Armco Steel in Middletown. He enjoyed farming and mushroom hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Stephanie Sue Burnett; brother Marvin Burnett; sisters Eileen Kiracofe, Barbara Myers and Carol Prater; and daughter-in-laws Trudy Burnett and Lydia Burnett.
He is survived by his sons Martin Burnett of Eaton, Brian (Mary) Burnett of Middletown and son Steve Burnett of Farmersville; grandchildren: Keith (Alison) Burnett, April (Zach) Kirby, Kayla (Kevin) McConnell, Todd (Jessica) Smith; great grandchildren: Ian Roberts, Luke McConnell, Katheryn McConnell, Elizabeth McConnell, Patrick McConnell, Landon McConnell, Charlie Fae Kirby, Hadley Kirby, Jaxon Smith and Addison Smith; his favorite niece Cindy West and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 113 Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH. Funeral service for David will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Twin Valley Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH.
