David M. "Dave" Byington

David "Dave" Marsh Byington, 103, passed away peacefully January 23, 2026. Born January 19, 1923 in Great Neck, NY, he was a son of the late Frederick P. and Lillian (Helmer) Byington. Dave was a veteran of WWII serving his country proudly as Sergeant with the US Army Air Corp. He later was employed as an airplane mechanic for Western Airlines for over 20 years retiring in 1988. He married Helen Roys and together they shared 52 beautiful years before her passing in 2010. David is survived by his niece Lynn R. Wood; nephew Russell Byington; grandnieces Callie Zuelke and Amy Byington; grandnephews Benjamin Rowe and Daniel Byington, and other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Byington; and sister Edith J. Byington. Services will be private and held at the convenience of Dave's family. Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation has been entrusted with arrangements.
