David John Callahan, 48, of Loudon, TN passed away Thursday September 5, 2024 at his residence.
He was born January 31, 1976 in Johnson City, NY to his loving parents John and Linda Callahan. David grew up in Vestal, NY and graduated from Vestal High School in 1994.
He is survived by his parents John and Linda Callahan of Loudon, TN; his sister Erin (and husband Keith) Heggelke of Vestal, NY and their daughters Paige and Mallory; his sister Kim Yuhnick of Binghamton, NY and her children Anna, James, and Nate; his sister Laura (and husband David) Rogers of Endwell, NY and their daughters Leah and Samantha; along with numerous loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Kathryn Callahan and his maternal grandparents James and Theresa Harvey, all of Ilion, NY.
David was a fan of anything outdoors, especially fishing. He had a passion for reading, cooking and music. He enjoyed a round of golf with friends and a great meal with good company. To know David was to love him. David had a huge heart and was not shy to share it, especially with his family or the long list of friends he considered family. He never ended a call or conversation without an "I love you". His sense of humor was one in a million, you could always count on David for the perfect joke or one liner to keep any room laughing.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Monday, September 9th at Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN on Tuesday, September 10th at 11:00 am. An additional celebration of life is being planned at a future date in his hometown of Vestal NY, details of which will be announced soon.
