David Lawrence Carter, 83, of Corry, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Corry Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 5, 1942, in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Clarence and Lilian (Morris) Carter.

Dave was raised and educated in Youngsville and graduated from Youngsville High School. After high school, he worked for several companies in the area throughout the years. Including Raymond's Manufacturing as a Heat Treater for many years until he retired. Dave also attended night school classes to get his certification to become a Heat Treater. His wife, Dawn and he were also Amway distributors for a period. After retirement, he worked as a driver for the Amish part time. Throughout his life, Dave was known as a jack of all trades and could fix, build or repair just about anything.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Erie, PA. His faith was very important to him, along with being kind, polite and empathetic to everyone he met. Dave knew so many people that every family vacation they took he would run into someone and have a conversation with him. He was very outgoing and loved his friends and family. He did absolutely everything he could to support his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children in infancy, Terri Sue Carter and Kenneth Blain Carter.

Dave is survived by his wife, Dawn Christina (Grow) Carter, whom he married on December 29, 1962, in Lottsville, PA; three sons, Timothy (Destiny) Carter, Michael (Margaret) Carter and Nathan (Tina) Carter; sister, Sandy (Ken) Silvis and two brothers, Fred (Shelly) Carter and Gary (Alexa) Carter.

He is also survived by ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends and coworkers, who he cherished.

Oh Dave, how we´re going to miss you! Your big voice and hearty laugh always got there before you did, you never met an stranger and your faith in God was pure and true! You´re going to leave a hole in this earthly world, but I´m sure God welcomed you into heaven and you´re up there, making friends with everyone around you. So happy your suffering is over.
