David Chazin, born September 3, 1928, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, just shy of his 96th birthday. David lived his entire life in the Philadelphia area, had a varied career and served in the US Navy 1945 – 46. He grew up in a large family of 10 - parents, Philip and Fannie; 6 sisters - Eleanor, Judith, Gert, Edith, Shirley, and Candy; and brother Paul.
David is survived by his loving and patient partner, Edith Voliner, and his three children - Neal (Madeleine), Lea (Tom), and Rhonda, as well as 8 grandchildren - Emily (Michael), Matt, Jessie (Trevor), Michael, Heather, Jamie, Rachel (Derik), and Lauren; and great-grandaughters, Freya and soon-to-be-born, Lana. Edith's daughter, Sandy, and her son, Scott, were a big part of David's life as well.
David was an excellent dancer, lover of 40's, 50's, and 60's music, an exceptional cook and a creative story teller. But his greatest gift was telling a slightly off-color joke! As a a top-notch handyman, David could fix just about anything. He was an attentive father and knew everything his kids did, no matter how well they tried to hide it.
We'll miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to David's Life Celebration and interment, with full military honors, on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. HIs graveside service will begin promptly at 11:30am (Livestream: https://www.facebook.com/SwartzGivnish/).
Family services entrusted under the care of Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Newtown.
