It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David J. Chevalier. David went to walk with the Lord on October 3, 2025 at the age of 84 surrounded by his loved ones.
David was born in Natchitoches, LA to David T. Chevalier and Louise Metoyer Chevalier on May 16, 1941. He graduated from St. James High School in Alexandria, LA. David moved to California after graduation with his parents and siblings. There, he met his wife, Shirley Dunn Chevalier. He provided for his wife and two sons by working at City National Bank until he retired in 1998 and moved back to Natchitoches.
David is preceded in death by his younger brother Donald Ray Chevalier, nephew Michael Chevalier Jr., brothers-in-law, Ray Dunn and Kevin Lawrence. David leaves behind his wife, Shirley, two sons, David A and Derek A, daughter-in-law Theresa, granddaughters, Alyssa and Ariana, and grandsons, Dean and Derek J. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Chevalier and Paul Chevalier, his sisters, Linda Lawrence and Brenda Albeño, and several cherished nephews, nieces, and God children.
The family would like to recognize everyone that has been a part of our lives, doctors, caregivers, Hospice of Natchitoches. Those visits will be in our hearts and not forgotten.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 17th from 5 - 7pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rosary following at 7pm. Funeral Home is located at 848 Keyser Ave., Natchitoches, LA 71457. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John Catholic Church on Saturday, October 18th, 10:30 am with Rev. Christian Ogbonna serving as celebrant followed by burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA. A Repass will follow the service at St. John's Hall.
