David Christian Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Custer-Glenn Funeral Home Inc on Mar. 18, 2026.
David William Christian, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 13th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and generosity to others.

Born on September 27, 1951, to Charles and Eva Christian in Mansfield, Ohio where he remained for most of his life until moving to Wayne County, Ohio in 2019.

David was a man defined by his sharp intellect, and witty sense of humor that could brighten any room.

He enjoyed anything involving computers and technology and was an avid music lover especially anything by the Beatles, the Bee Gees, and Phil Collins. He was a man who truly understood the finer things in life-specifically, that a meal isn't complete unless it involves chocolate milk, Oreos, ice cream, or a perfectly made toasted cheese sandwich made by his son-in-law.

David had a deep love for animals, sharing his life with his beloved cat, (Johnny) his dog (Max), and many other furry companions throughout his life. Above all, his heart belonged to his family.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Sharon Christian, who preceded him in death in November 2020.

His legacy of generosity, kindness, and wit lives on through his children: Hope (Darrell) Griffin, Lee Ann Wigton, and Douglas Christian. He was a proud grandfather to Macenzie (Melanie) Wigton, Iasic Ratliff, Katelyn Griffin, Miranda (Broderick) Griffin, Dustin (Brittany) Griffin, Nathaniel Christian, and Lawson (Amber) Tackett.

David's life was a reminder to find joy in the simple things, to laugh often, and to never underestimate the power of family and their love for each other. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

It was his previous wish that there be no public services, and a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
