Carrie Eddy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Custer-Glenn Funeral Home Inc on Feb. 19, 2026.
Carrie "Jean" Coppock, age 96, of Dalton, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Shady Lawn in Dalton following a period of declining health. Her beloved family was by her side at the time of her passing.

Born in Columbiana, Ohio, on May 6, 1929, to Harold and Mary (Kier) Eddy, Jean moved to the Canton area in 1970. Following her high school graduation, she entered nursing training and was elected President of her class for two terms. She later spent eleven years as a professional model in runway, photography, television, and commercials, and was proud to hold the title of "Miss Polaroid." Jean also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Ohio Lottery Commission and eventually retired from the Auditor of State's Office.

Dedicated to service, Jean volunteered for the American Red Cross, Hunger Task Force, Meals on Wheels, Foster Parents, Habitat for Humanity, Total Living Center, and Manna House. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Bahamas, and enjoyed camping, horseback riding, golf, bowling, swimming, and sewing. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children and family.

Jean is survived by her son, Lee Coppock; her daughter, Shannon (Mike) Sartoski; her grandson, Zach Coppock; her granddaughter, Cheyanne Sartoski and partner Stephen Richards; her great-grandson, Zyler Coppock; and several nieces and a nephew. Her constant canine companion, "Mia," will also miss her terribly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dick Eddy.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no public services. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either: Cherish Hospice, 3969 Convenience Cir. NW # 203, Canton, Ohio 44718 or at: (www.cherish-hospice.com) or Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or at: (www.wchs.org).
