David Clark Obituary

David was a proud retired Fire Chief for the City of Des Plaines for many years and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved to travel and take road trips with his wife, Martha. He was an avid reader of history, particularly naval aviation and World War II. David's Catholic faith was important to him and he deeply loved his family. He was also a lifelong-suffering Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Clark, daughters Teresa (John) Kasch and Monique Clark. David is survived by his cherished grandchildren Monique, Jessica, Katherine, Rebecca, Sarah, and Hannah as well as great-grandchildren Charlize, Trey, Wilhelmina, Hailey, Madeline, and Cooper. David is also survived by his sister Patricia (Rich) Truver, and many nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents, daughter Beatrice (Dan) Todd, brothers Mike (Francine) Clark and Daniel (Maureen) Clark.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 3:00 pm until eulogy at 6:30 pm followed by Des Plaines Fire Department Ringing of Bell ceremony at 6:45 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. A prayer service will take place at 9:15am on Thursday, January 16 at the funeral home with a funeral Mass following at 10:00am at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church in Des Plaines, Illinois.
