David John Cline, 61, of Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his residence. Son of the late Jack and Janet (Stauffenberg) Cline, he was born on July 14, 1964, in Camp Hill.
A 1983 graduate of Camp Hill High School, David would go on to work in the entertainment industry for most of his life. He was a 20-year member of the IATSE Local 480, Film & Television Production, and he thoroughly enjoyed what he did for a living-setting up audio and sound equipment for music and television productions, standing in as a film extra here and there, and meeting all kinds of unique individuals in the entertainment industry. His career was marked by memorable experiences, including a cameo in Steven Spielberg's "Into the West", work on the iconic set of "Breaking Bad" as well as many musical artists and several Superbowls.
A true enthusiast at heart, David had a passion for muscle cars, especially his beloved 1969 Chevelle. He proudly cheered for his favorite teams-the Steelers and Penn State-and enjoyed relaxing trips to the Outer Banks. His gentle spirit shone brightly through his love for his cat, Tripp.
David is survived by his sisters, Susan Cline Kichman (Michael) and Jackyann "Jacky" Murphy (Buddy Campbell); nieces and nephews, Michael R. McGeehan (Nicole), Shawn A. McGeehan (Tiffany), Katrina J. Cline (AJ) and Joey P. Murphy (Laura); and great-nieces and nephews, Landon, Brady, Cooper, Colton, Chase and Sloane McGeehan, and Elliot Cline-Yaklin. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Murphy.
A public viewing and celebration of David's life will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A funeral will follow promptly at 1 PM.
