David Coleman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maurice L. Knee, Ltd. Funeral Home - Plum on Jan. 27, 2026.
David J. Coleman passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. He was preceded in death

by his parents, Buford H. Coleman and Elizabeth A. Perkins.

David is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie "Roe" Coleman; his sister, Donna Bell, and

her husband, Merl Bell; his children: Jason and Monica Coleman, Jonathan and Leah

Coleman, Aaron and Amy Coleman, Dawnmarie and Gary Wright, Richard and Lisa

Chapman, Elayne Weiss and George Hodak. He was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren

and a cherished great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren. David was also a beloved uncle

and a treasured friend to many.

David was a pillar of strength and faith for his blended family-a man whose steady presence,

wisdom, and quiet humor touched all who knew him. A proud patriot, he honorably served his

country as a Vietnam veteran, where he worked as a Corpsman, a role that reflected both his

courage and compassion.

Brilliant-minded and endlessly curious, David possessed a wide range of interests and gifts.

He was a man of deep faith, a historian with a special passion for preserving his own family's

lineage, a Civil War reenactor, an artist, and a teacher known for his remarkable patience.

Exceptionally wise, David shared his knowledge generously and always with grace.

In recent years, David found great joy traveling south, where he embraced life as an avid

fisherman and kayaker, spending peaceful days enjoying the beach and the beauty of God's

creation.

David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his service to others, his sharp mind, and

his generous heart. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he

shaped through kindness, wisdom, and example.

Daisy, I will forever cherish the life we shared, and the memories we made.

My love forever, Roe.
