David Colon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dierna Funeral Home - Rochester on Dec. 12, 2025.
It is with profound heartbreak that we share the passing of David Colon Sr., who went to heaven December 8, 2025. Born on February 16, 1976, in Brooklyn, NY, David was so much more than the roles he held. He was the kind of man whose presence filled a room, whose laughter could ease the worst day, and whose heart always had space for the people he loved. To his family and friends, he truly meant everything.

He was predeceased by his father, Angel Colon Sr. and his brother Israel Colon. David is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Jayson Rivera (Makayla), Jayda Paige, David Jr., and Charlie; his grandchild, Eli; his mother, Antonia Montanez, and in-laws, Kay Baglin (John); his siblings, Angel Jr., Erica (Victor), Joshua, Luis, Jay Jay, and sister Sasha and Tony (Jessica); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who became family and adored him.

Family was the center of David's universe. He showed his love by always showing up. If someone needed him, he was there. Whether it was a birthday, a tough moment, or a simple Sunday dinner, David was the one who made people feel supported, grounded, and safe. He brought comfort. He brought laughter. He brought a feeling of home wherever he went.

David lived his life with quiet strength, a sharp and honest sense of humor, and a loyalty that never once wavered. The way he loved his wife and children, supported his family, and stood by his friends will be remembered forever. He made people better simply by being in their lives.

We will carry his warmth, his honesty, his jokes, and the memories he gave us for the rest of our lives. His absence is heavy, but the love he shared is permanent.

He will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those attending to honor David in a way that reflects his spirit and love of football. Guests are welcome to wear their favorite NFL team's gear-Giants gear especially-as a tribute to the joy, loyalty, and passion David carried with him every day.

Calling hours will be held at Dierna Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14th, from 4:00–8:00 PM, with an opportunity for family and friends to share their favorite memories of David.

The burial will take place on Monday, December 15. Family and friends will gather at Dierna Funeral Home at 10:45 AM, with a procession to Irondequoit Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Thank you for showing up for your niece at one of the most important times in her life. Seeing you at Santali´s baby shower made me happy as you were her Favorite Uncle, and you took that step. It was no surprise, as you always had a big kind loving heart, with the calmest demeanor. We will always appreciate the love you showed before your passing. You will Truly be missed. Much Love, Cola and Family
