David Corey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center on Dec. 18, 2025.
David Robert Corey, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

David was born January 25, 1940, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Robert L. Corey and Lovinia (Keene) Corey.

On June 24, 1963, he married Barbara (McPheters) Corey, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

From an early age, David developed the strong work ethic and determination that would define his life. He graduated from Linesville High School and proudly served his country in the National Guard and the Army Reserves.

David spent the majority of his professional career with National Tel-Tronics, where he worked as a Project Engineer before retiring. In addition to his full-time career, he was a dedicated entrepreneur, owning and operating Dave Corey Autobody and managing and renovating rental properties. His ability to fix, build, and improve anything he touched was widely admired.

After retiring, David relocated to Sun City West, Arizona, where he settled into an active and fulfilling retirement. He established a handyman business serving individuals and realtors, continuing to do the work he loved until the age of 82.

David will be remembered as a hardworking, resourceful, and dependable man who took pride in providing for his family and helping others. A true people person, he enjoyed joking, kidding

around, and bringing smiles to those around him. His legacy lives on through the example he set of dedication, integrity, and a life spent working hard.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Corey (Ruth), and daughter Stacy Strickland (Scott). He was also a proud grandfather to Andrew Corey (Alysia), Allison Young (Jeffrey), Meredith Eidson, and Caroline Eidson, and a cherished great-grandfather to Josey, Isla, and Mabel Young. David is also survived by his sister, Eloise Brooks (Lary), in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Corey (Linda).

The family extends a special thank you to BAYADA for the compassionate care they provided, especially David's caregivers, Raven, Justin, Michelle, and Aili, whom he considered family.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to ALS.org in David's memory.
