Obituary
David "Dave" Eugene Cotner, 69, of Wooster, died peacefully at his home, while surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
David was born January 26, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Thayer and Richard Cotner. David proudly served in the U.S. Navy for over 17 years. He married Tina Blough on May 25, 1985 and they were happily married for the past 38 years. He worked as an auto mechanic before retiring in 2010. David had many hobbies and used his talents to do beautiful wood working projects and supervise his sons while they fixed vehicles, made furniture, built a deck, and many other projects. David's greatest love was spending time with his family.
David will be deeply missed by his wife, Tina; sons, Alex Meade and Teresa, David Cotner Jr and Brandy, Ronnie Cotner and Makayla, Jimmy Cotner and Danielle and Richard Cotner ; grandchildren, Ezra, Timothy, Olivia, Matthew, Brayden, Easton, Benjamin, and Lorelai; sister, Sheila Cotner; nieces, Zandi Cotner, Morgan Elrod and Amber Elrod; sister-in-law, Carlene Cotner; mother and father-in-law, Marie and Kenneth Roland, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald (Jane) Sidwell, James (Lucy) Sidwell, and Dorothy (Edward) Belle.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Denise and Kyle Walker.
Inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alport Syndrome Foundation.
Murray Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
