Obituary of David John Cree
David John Cree, 73, a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp, passed away Saturday July 1, 2023 at home.
The son of John and Louise (Hart)Cree, David grew up in Syracuse, but later resided in LaFayette, NY. He was born October 5, 1949 in Syracuse and was a member of the Steelworkers Union before starting his own painting business, American Heritage Painting, which he ran for more than 20 years.
At the age of 19, Dave enlisted in the Marine Corp. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Corporal.
David was an avid NY Jets, Yankees, and Boston Bruins fan. He loved attending Syracuse Crunch games, and spending time with wife, son, and two grandsons, Benjamin and Zachary.
David is survived by his beloved wife Judy, son Robert (Jenna) of Warners, and stepdaughter Jennifer (Kevin) Ionta of Florida.
A private service honoring the life of David will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or any other Veteran program/organization.

My condolences to Dave’s family. I just recently found out that Dave passed away. Dave and I were friends and coworkers in our early years. We both worked at Nettleton Shoe factory. We were both interested in cars back then. In fact, we both had Plymouth Roadrunners. There are so many good memories I had with Dave. But, the years go by and different paths in life for both of us.
My condolences to his family.
