David Lynn D'Anthony, 69, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was bornin St. Louis, MO, March 25, 1965, to parents Nick H. and Alma "LeEtta" (Province) D'Anthony.

David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, whose life was defined by his deep love for his family and the joy he found in the simple moments shared with them.

On June 15, 1990, David married Linda Susan Simmons, and together they created a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories filled with devotion, hard work, and unwavering support for each other.

David spent his life as a General Contractor and was the proud owner and operator of DLD Contracting until his retirement. Known for his skill and work ethic, he took great pride in every project he completed and was respected by colleagues and clients alike.

In his earlier years he loved music and worked for many years as a DJ in St. Louis - a role that reflected his vibrant personality and love for connecting with others.

Later in life, David found great joy in attending Tabernacle Baptist Church in Piedmont, where he enjoyed fellowship and spiritual community. In retirement, he took special pride in working on his lawn and decorating for the holidays - especially Christmas, his favorite time of year. His festive spirit and holiday displays brought joy to all who passed by.

David's greatest legacy, however, was his family. His most treasured role was that of "Grandpa," and he considered it his proudest accomplishment. He was a guiding light, and source of unconditional love.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chucky" Pettus.

David is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-five years; children: Vicky Boyd of Arnold, Delores Sneed and John of Springfield; Krista McKinney and Tonya of Crescent Valley, NV, Shaun D'Anthony of Arnold; grandchildren: Kayla Boyd, Zack Sneed, Abby Sneed, Ryan Boyd, Chucky McAllister, Wyatt D'Anthony, Mazy McKinney; great-grandchild: Noah.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, humor, and dedication to his family will be remembered always.

A memorial service was held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Piedmont, MO. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
