David "Dave" Braner August 6, 1967 – July 9, 2025

Valdosta, GA – David "Dave" Braner, 57, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Gary, Indiana, on August 6, 1967, to the late William Harrison Braner and Dorothy Bennett Braner, Dave's life was marked by his dedication to family, his passion in leadership and his love of home and community.

Dave was a manager of the Cracker Barrel in Valdosta, where his leadership, encouragement and warmth were appreciated and will be cherished by his Cracker Barrel family and his guests.

A devoted Chicago Bears, Bulls and Cubs fan, he could often be found exploring flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales with his wife, delighting in the thrill of finding treasures to add to his admirable sports memorabilia collection kept in his game room.

Above all, Dave loved his family deeply. He took great joy in spending time with his sons John & Jared, caring for his pets and devoted much of his time to improving his new home and yard with his wife Kelsey, creating a welcoming and comfortable space for his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife Kelsey Braner of Valdosta; his sons, John Harrison Braner and Jared David Braner, both of Plant City, Florida; his sisters, Penny Braner and Sue Thomas, also of Plant City; his parents-in-law, Ricky and Tammy White of Brandon, Florida; and his sister-in-law Jenna White and her fiancé Jason Taylor of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Dorothy Braner and sister Cathy Braner.

A memorial service celebrating Dave's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Family, friends, and all who knew Dave are invited to gather and remember a man who touched many lives. A reception will follow at Park Place, located at 108 W. Park Avenue, Valdosta, GA. Another service will be held in Plant City, FL at a later date, in which Kelsey Braner and sons will announce.

The Braner family extends their gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
