David Wayne (Dave) Christopher, aged 85, passed away peacefully at Michigan Home for Veterans Grand Rapids on September 17, 2025 and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ.
Dave was born in Travers City, MI on November 16, 1939 to Roy and Odessa Christopher.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son; David Christopher Jr., brothers; Roy and Chris, and sisters; Crystal, Hazel, Elenor and Rose.
Dave was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife Annette (Anne), as well as children and grandchildren; Holly Westveld (Tom), Tom Jr. (Melodee), Anthony, Kevin Chritopher, Karmen, Cory, Kevin Jr., Cheyanne, Lori Bushong Christopher, Russel (Vanessa) Alyssa and Eliza, step-children; Gary M. Klein (Andrea), Caleb, Gary A., Matthew, Tyler Klein (Katy), Cameron, Albert, Millyrose, Robert, and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Noreen Pillars, brother; Richard and Keith and many extended family members.
He created cherished memories for his family, and also his friends and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
Dave was a veteran of the United States Navy, having proudly served aboard the USS Wasp, CVS-18.
For many years Dave owned and operated Billiards By Christopher. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. After he retired he enjoyed woodworking, sharing his projects and helping others.
A private graveside service will be held with interment at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials in Dave’s name maybe made to Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids or the organization of one’s choice.
