It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Dwayne Dawes, age 67, on September 25, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. David was born on February 26, 1958, in Beech Grove, IN.

David spent most of his career as a skilled carpenter, dedicating years to his craft and contributing significantly to various projects throughout his life. He also worked for four years with Statesville Shot Peening, bringing his attention to detail and dedication to every task he undertook.

Outside of his professional life, David had a deep love for adventure and nature. He enjoyed pit caving with his close friend Jerry and hiking to explore the numerous waterfalls in the surrounding area. David cherished picnics on the Blue Ridge Parkway with his beloved wife, Jane, and found joy in connecting with family and friends via Facebook.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Dawes. He leaves behind his devoted mother, Francis Dawes; his loving wife of 17 years, Jane Russ Dawes; his dear sister, Cappi Kash; and his brother, Eric Dawes. His memory will also be cherished by his extended family and friends.

Per David's wishes, no services will be planned at this time. His family appreciates the love and support from all who knew him during this difficult time. David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
