ERIC DENSLEY
1963-2024
Eric Densley, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 22, 2024, in South Jordan Utah.
Eric was born on May 17, 1963 to Mack and Linda Densley. Eric married the love of his life, Wendy Cassity, on February 16, 2001.
Eric grew up in Magna Utah and graduated from Cyprus High in 1981. Eric joined the United States Marine Corps in 1983 earning the rank of Sargent. Eric served with honors in Desert Storm receiving the Navy Commendation medal with combat ‘V’ and a Meritorious Mast.
Upon an honorable discharge from the Marines, Eric became an officer at the Utah State Prison. Eric then went on to serve the City of South Salt Lake as a police officer. He served in many positions while in South Salt Lake; C.O.P, SWAT, Street Crimes, Motors, Firearms and Sniper Instructor. While at South Salt Lake he earned the Community Impact Award, Patrol Officer of the Year, and the Utah Peace Officers Association Officer of the Year award, retiring after 21 years.
Eric then joined the Midvale Police Department which later merged into the Unified Police Department serving Riverton, Midvale and White City. He earned many accommodations including the Sheriff’s Star and Chief’s Award. Eric took special interest in the ‘rookies’ he worked with and enjoyed teaching them skills that aren't taught in POST.
Eric was a humble amazing true Hero. Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.
Eric's hobbies included golf, camping, trap shooting with his dad, and hunting. Pheasant hunting being his favorite. He also enjoyed time in the west desert shooting to retain his firearm skills. His favorite pastimes were the family deer hunting camps in Mt. Nebo, spending time with his family and the outdoors.
Eric was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan since he was a boy.
Eric cherished the time he spent with his loving wife, their fur babies, Bella, Daisy, and Ziva, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Eric is survived by his wife, Wendy; daughter, Jessyca (Mike) Wyant; son, Aaron Densley; father, Mack Densley(Peggy); in-laws, Bill and Elvira Cassity; brother, Bryan (Brenda) Densley; nieces Paige (Eric) Lowe and Shelby Densley; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
Eric was preceded in death by is mother, Linda Densley; grandparents, Henry and Shirley Taylor and Joe and Lola Densley; and uncles, John Taylor and Jerald Densley
A viewing will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Peel Funeral Home in Magna, Utah. 8525 W Magna Main St., Magna UT 84044.
Graveside services will be held on January 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Vine Bluff Cemetery at 1200 N. 400 E., Nephi, UT.
