David DeWalt, age 73, of Louisville, passed away on June 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 16, 1951, David was a beloved husband, dad, papa, and friend who brought joy, warmth, and laughter to all who knew him.
David lived life to the fullest. In the warmer months, you could find him on the golf course at The Quarry, while winters were reserved for his true passion-snowmobiling. He especially looked forward to the annual Flying Tigers Snowmobiling Club trip to Michigan. An avid boater and water skier, David was known for carving impressive sprays on his slalom ski. More than anything, his favorite place was at home, surrounded by family, where the smiles were constant and the laughter never ceased.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia (Purney) DeWalt, and brothers, Dennis DeWalt and Dan (Vicki) DeWalt.
David is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dee Ann (Reichard) DeWalt; six children: Marcy (Greg) Nelson, David (Karrie) DeWalt, Nick (Hallie) DeWalt, Cortney DeWalt, Emily DeWalt, and Chris (Ashley) DeWalt; nine grandchildren: Clayton, Grace, Ruby, Brady, Layla, Eva, Nico, Scarlett, and Elijah; and two great-grandchildren: Silas and Ensley. He also leaves behind his sisters, Debbie DeWalt and Dianne (Tim) Walker, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him deeply.
David spent over 40 years in the beverage sales industry, working for Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Fame Beverage, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
The DeWalt family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors and nurses at Cleveland Clinic Mercy and Akron General Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 20th, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, 303 S. Chapel St., Louisville, OH. A Mass to celebrate David's life will take place on Saturday, June 21st, at 10:30 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church, 300 N. Chapel St., Louisville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flying Tigers Snowmobile Club in David's honor.
