David Drake

CONCORD- Mr. David N. Drake, 82, of Concord, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Harris Hill Healthcare Center, following a period of declining health surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Peterborough, David was the son of the late C. Wesley and Gertrude M. (Fleury) Drake. He was raised and educated in Suncook and spent most of his life living in Concord.

Prior to his retirement, David was employed as a book binder at Cummings Printing. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

David greatly enjoyed horseshoes, playing pool, and fishing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and rarely missed watching a game. He especially loved sailing and spending time by the water at his camp on Clough Pond in Loudon. David had a wonderful sense of humor, a fantastic personality, and a true gift for making people laugh. Above all else, he deeply loved his family.

David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Claire (Labrecque) Drake; his son, David McGrath and his wife Christine; his daughter, Michele Folsom and her husband Shane; and his stepdaughter, Kelly Flanders and her husband Ben. He was the proud grandfather of Alysha McGrath, Felicia Brooks, Kason Sabean, Connor Sabean, Timothy Folsom, Jayson Folsom, Tyler Flanders, Nicole Flanders, and a great-grandfather to Olivia Sabean. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Eugene Cote & several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 11 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, River Road, Allenstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to Lily Care of New Hampshire.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff at Harris Hill Healthcare Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to David.
