When I heard of his passing, a lot of memories came flooding back. Like every player who he coached, he had a profound impact on me and my life. He could be a demanding task master because he expected your best...regardless of how good that was. He had a heart of gold inside that gruff coach exterior. When things didn´t go your way, he was there for you. He taught you the value hard work and discipline. I saw him about 20 years ago at a fundraiser and, even though I hadn´t seen him in almost 30 years, he recognized me when I went up to shake his hand. I´m not sure if he´s coaching or playing, but he´s still got everyone playing the right way.

To the Driscoll family, I want express my condolences to all of you! Mr. Driscoll and I go back to 1963 at Parkside High School where he was a teacher and football coach. We´ve remained acquaintances since. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I´d see him at St. Mary´s mass often. He was a man of faith and lived his life accordingly! God bless and prayers at this difficult time! Jim Quillen

I remember him as a great teacher and a very nice man when he would come to the 1967 PHS class reunions. Condolences to his family. Surely the angels met him on his way.

RIP Coach Dave. Your were much more than my PHS football coach as I considered you my undesignated mentor who instilled in me, vicariously, a spirit of not giving up, diligence in my tasks and respect for others. I take comfort that you have joined your fellow PHS coaches on the heavenly gridiron.

Great coach and even a better person. I relive memories of Mr Driscoll almost daily. He expected the best from everyone. He was a big part of defining my core values.

I am sorry to hear of Dave's passing. My condolences to his family.
We had lunch together in the fall and then visited the oil wells in Calhoun, Hillsdale & Jackson counties. Dave was full of information & enjoyed sharing his knowledge. I will miss him. May the angels welcome him into paradise.
