David Dzubak Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - East Louisville on Jan. 29, 2026.
David R. Dzubak, Sr., 63, of Louisville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville.

He was born on August 17, 1962, in Yonkers, NY, one of two sons to the late Richard J. Dzubak, Sr. and Lucille G. Capanaro Dzubak.

He was a devoted son, and son in law. He was a strong and loving father, generous big-hearted brother. He was an unbelievably loyal, committed, and caring husband.

David dedicated several years of service as a Postmaster with the United States Postal Service, followed by a career in sales with Haverty's Furniture where he was a hardworking thoughtful partner and team player for over 20 plus years. He was strong in his Catholic faith and was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Active by nature, Dave enjoyed camping, hiking, exploring new places, and traveling. He also had a love for "the horses" and enjoyed golf. Originally from New York, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on the New York Jets and Mets He liked those underdogs. He was also a huge supporter of his ala mater - the UK Wildcats

Music was a passion that he liked to share with the ones he loved.

He had an infectious laugh, and with his amazing sense of humor, brought happiness and joy to everyone he encountered.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Gail Washbish-Dzubak; his two children, David Dzubak and Elizabeth Dzubak; five grandchildren, Kaysen, Aubree; Jaden, Sophia and Madison and one brother, Richard J. Dzubak, Jr.

Dave will be remembered by those who knew him for his presence, his life, and the moments he shared with family and friends.

There will be Mass held February 14th at Holy Trinity @ 10:00 am.

Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at Vernon Lanes Bowling Alley, 1575 Story Avenue 40206.

Dad,

I don´t know how to say goodbye to someone who shaped my whole world. So instead, I´ll say this: Thank you for your strength, guidance, & your love. I will live in a way that honors you. I will hold onto your lessons, your laughter, and your peace. Thank you for believing in me & shaping the person I am today. You may not be here beside me, but you will always be within me.

Love always your daughter,
Elizabeth
