Greer, SC – David Arthur "Candyman" Edwards, 79, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Markley and Agnes Stone Edwards. He was a beloved son, brother, father, papa and friend to all.
He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired truck driver of 30 years and a member of Pelham First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nancy Brown Edwards, son, Rusty (Kelly) Edwards and son, Jeffrey (Allison) Edwards; two brothers, Cecil Edwards and Danny Edwards and three sisters, Barbara Buie, Evelyn Stokes and Janet Wallace; seven grandchildren, Breanna (Avery) James, Brooke Edwards, Emma Kate Edwards, Kaleb Edwards, Justin Edwards, Johnathan Edwards, and Julian Edwards. Also survived by his beloved dog, Tigger.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Pelham First Baptist Church by Pastor Patrick Clark. Burial will be private at MJ Dolly Cooper.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Edwards, Jeffrey Edwards, Justin Edwards, Johnathan Edwards, Kaleb Edwards, Avery James, Konner Raines, and Corey Hastings.
Honorary escorts will be Keith Taylors, JR Nolff, and Mike Mason.
Visitation will be held Monday July 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Pelham First Baptist Church; 2720 S. Old Hwy 14 Greer, SC 29650.
A special thank you to the nurses at Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
Flowers are welcome or memorials can be made to Pelham First Baptist Church; 2720 S Old Hwy 14 Greer, SC 29650.
The family will be at the home of Rusty and Kelly Edwards.
