David Ellis Obituary
David is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya Ellis of Mount Vernon; mother, Betty Jo Buck; sons, Justice Ellis and wife, Mariah and Lucas Ellis; stepchildren, Zackery Pierce and wife, Jennifer and Ashley Pierce; step-grandchildren, Jase, Mary, Maverick, Kolton, and Anthony; brother, Marvin Ellis, Jr. and wife, Christina; special niece, Paige Ellis; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Ellis, Sr.
David worked several years at Comprehensive Connections as a maintenance supervisor. David never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone and helped everyone he possibly could. He loved being outdoors, especially riding his side by side. Most of all, David loved unconditionally. He was rough and tough on the outside, but had the biggest, softest heart on the inside.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:30 am at Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in David's honor to Comprehensive Connections.

I'm so sorry about David's passing. He is deeply missed. He was always ready to help out. One year he dressed up and played Santa Claus for our group. He had as much fun as they did! What a great guy.
