1959-2024
David Jack "Jackie" Fattig Jr, 65,
St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024.
He was born January 13, 1959 to David Jack Sr. and Barbara (Cooper)Fattig in
Saint Joseph, Missouri.
David, widely known as David Fattig Jr., is survived by his wife of 36 years, Michelle Marie Fattig; his son Anthony of Cameron; his daughter Rebecca of the home; his daughter Jessica (Tevye) Leighr of St. Joseph; his son Dominick (Mary) of Leavenworth, KS; one granddaughter and three grandsons; and his father-in-law Gordon and mother-in-law Mag Carmichael of St. Joseph. He is also survived by his sister Candy (Kelly) Hoffmann, two other sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
David attended Central High School and graduated from Missouri Western State College with a bachelor's degree in medical coding. Over his lifetime, he worked at Walnut Products, Holiday Inn, East Hills Shopping Center, Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Xavier Church, Albany Hospital, Citadel, Truman Medical Center, Saxton Woods, Progressive Molded Products, and North Belt Walmart before becoming disabled.
David had a keen mind and a wealth of knowledge in electronics, music, and trivia. He was a big fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, and old TV shows. An avid reader, he enjoyed true crime, sci-fi, and horror genres. More recently, he had taken an interest in political commentators and political news shows (I called them "doom and gloom"). Known for his good-natured debates, David was also well-known as a "Pepper-Head" due to his massive collection of hot sauces. He also had an extensive collection of books and CDs and loved trying new foods from different cultures. David's favorite color was purple.
In his honor, the family invites you to wear purple to his Celebration of Life, which will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Center, 2618 Seneca Street,
St. Joseph, MO 64507. Please join us to celebrate David's life with some of his favorite foods, desserts, memories, and music.
