Biography: David Frederick Feild, 70, of Little Rock, passed away on June 25, 2025, just a month shy of his 71st birthday.
A lifelong resident of Little Rock, David loved everything about Arkansas. He lived for Razorback sports, anxiously awaited the opening of deer season every fall, and spent every summer possible listening to music while boating around Lake Ouachita. Having gone to Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, David ran into friendly faces everywhere around town - always greeting them with a hearty handshake, a big smile, and his favorite phrase "What 'cha say!"
David spent more than 40 years working in the insurance industry. He loved his customers like family and enjoyed traveling around his beloved state to visit them often. While he appreciated the ins and outs of insurance, his true passion always lay in construction and water systems. A perfect day for him involved a hard hat, muddy boots, and the hum of real work getting done. Often stating he never wished to retire, life had other plans and he had to make the difficult decision to end his career "early" in his mid-60s. His work was never far from his mind, though, as he still visited with former co-workers and customers often.
Outside of work, David was a passionate cook and a connoisseur of Little Rock's hidden-gem restaurants. Known for his upbeat spirit and boisterous laugh, he cherished time with friends, good music, and the simple joy of being alive.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Amy Feild; his children, Stuart Feild (Breyanne Yuszkus), Mary Feild (Zachary Michalka), and Helen Petticord (Larston); his grandsons Franklin Petticord and Everett Michalka; his brother, Dr. Charles Feild; and his sister, Jean Camp; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Feild.
When saying goodbye David would often wave while wistfully saying, "Happy Trails". Those of you who wish to say the same to him one more time are welcome to attend services at Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 8th at 2 p.m. Visitation on Monday 7th at Ruebel funeral home 5-7pm.
