David Feldmann of Athol KS passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at the age of 79 in Kearney NE.
Dave was born on June 8, 1945 to Willie and Kathe (Seeman) Feldmann of Athol KS. He was baptized on July 8, 1945 and confirmed in 1959 at the St. John Lutheran Church. Dave grew up in rural Athol where he attended grade school through the 8th grade and graduated from Smith Center High School in 1963.
Shortly after graduation Dave joined the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on June 9, 1971. He was united in marriage to Beverly Robinson on August 25, 1966. To this union a daughter, Shalyn, was born in 1972 and a son, Andrew, in 1976.
Dave was a lifelong resident of the Athol community and served on the Athol city council for 50 years. He also served on the Athol fire department for many years. Dave enjoyed a lifetime of farming, raising cattle, and using his mechanical skills to keep his equipment running properly.
Dave had a knack for gardening and enjoyed sharing the produce with his family and friends. He took pleasure in the mechanics and operation of all antique equipment, including his stationary engines. He could be found tinkering in his shop and was known for being able to fix most anything. His attention to detail and perfectionism on any project ensured a precise and flawless result.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Shalyn.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of 58 years, brother Carl of Smith Center KS, son Andrew (Lynn) Feldmann of Jewell KS, son-in-law Mike Ellenberger of Athol KS, grandson Jase Ellenberger (Teri) of Plainville KS, granddaughter Kaitlin (Anthony) of Kensington KS, Jesse Feldmann of Beloit KS, Emily Feldmann of Manhattan KS, Great granddaughter Nikki Ellenberger of Canby, OR, Sister in law Joyce Robinson from Beloit, KS and brother in law Rob Gillis from Gaylord, KS, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
