Mr. David Franklin Fields, 81 of Galax, VA passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 at his home. He was born in Galax, VA on May 25, 1943 to the late Lonnie and Lannie Fayne Fields. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Fields and granddaughter, Ashley Fields.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mike Lister of Galax, VA, Patty Fields and Greg Fogus of Pulaski, VA, Cynthia and Jason Dancy of Granite Falls, NC, and Stephanie and Grayson Patton of Glade Valley, NC; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Fields of Galax, VA and Bobby and Jamie Fields of Ennice, NC; grandchildren, Todd and Katie Nichols, Magan Hall and Steven Reece, Christopher and Kaitlyn Lister, Amber and Nathian Mcfarland, Kimberly Nichols, Sam Fields, Kara Fields, Alex Dancy and Finnley Patton; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Mcfarland, Kylin Lister, Hunter Mcfarland, Jenna Hall, Easton Lister and Raelynn Mcfarland; siblings, Bonnie, Janice, Judy, Danny and Benny; special family friends, Julia Roberts of Chappel Hill, NC, Adam Miller of Galax, VA, Austin West of Galax, VA and Sammy Holderfield of Galax, VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Independence, VA beginning at 6pm with Sammy Holderfield officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David can be made to Crooked Creek Church, c/o Joan Isom, 1808 Harrison Ridge Road, Woodlawn, VA 24381.
