David Findley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sisk Brothers Funeral Home - Hamden on Jan. 8, 2026.
David Allen Findley, age 35, passed away on January 5th at Connecticut Hospice. He was born on August 12, 1990, to Susanne Findley and David Findley Sr. David was a current resident of East Haven, Connecticut, and formerly a lifelong resident of Hamden, where he lived for many years with his grandmother, Maureen. David was known for his fun-loving spirit, his easygoing nature, and his ability to make others laugh-often at his own expense. He never took life too seriously, and his humor and warmth brought light to everyone who knew him. Sports were David's greatest passion. He was a devoted fan of the New York Mets, the Washington Capitals, and a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan. Hockey held a special place in his heart, culminating in a state title in 2009 for Hamden High School. David played for many great teams throughout his youth hockey and high school career and was mentored and coached throughout his life by his Uncle Carl, who always held a special place in David's heart. He also shared a special bond with his cousin and role model, Tom Glynn, with whom he shared his love of baseball, hockey, and golf.

David is survived by his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his grandmother, Maureen, who raised him on her own following the death of her husband, Carl, in 1997. David and Maureen shared a forever bond, and she will miss him immensely.

Arrangements are being handled by Sisk Brothers Funeral Home in Hamden, Connecticut. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 12th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in David's name.

We always remember David so fondly and with smiles. As kids, he and Sean S and our son, Mike, were best buddies. We admired Maureen and Carl for the great love and care they gave David. I will always picture the boys on the ice or running around the woods on Gaylord Mountain Road. So glad he was part of our world.
