Born on September 30, 1951, in Elyria, Ohio, Dave dedicated his life to hard work, embodying a strong work ethic throughout his 35 years of service at Windstream before retiring.
A graduate of Elyria High School in the class of 1969, Dave carried the values of commitment and perseverance into every aspect of his life. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his stubborn determined spirit, colorful language and dedication to his family.
Dave's family was the cornerstone of his existence; he was devoted to his wife of 53 years, Genevieve “Jeannie” Flowers. He is survived by his son, David M. (Michelle Goodall) Flowers, and his daughter, Genevieve (Adam) Petsche. His brother, Alan (Lynn) Flowers, and another brother, Charlie (Vicki) Flowers, along with his sister, Judy (Roger) Simpkins, also carry his memory forward.
A meticulous individual, Dave took great pride in his yard and was a skilled handyman, capable of fixing and repairing anything that needed attention. In his spare time, he enjoyed indulging in western movies and nurturing his garden, where he found solace. His frequent trips to Las Vegas led to many lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joan Flowers, and his sister, Carol Young, who, along with all who knew him, will hold his memory dear. Dave’s life was a testament to unwavering commitment to family and community, and he will be sorely missed.
